Vinegar in Mantua is a tradition dating back in time, inherited from father to son among vinegar producers. The turning point of such a fantastic tradition was 1962. At the time Giorgio Mengazzoli had a dream: controlling the secular handicraft tradition in Mantua and exporting it outside the city boundaries, all over Italy and worldwide.

Thus simply and spontaneously as all the best things, Acetificio Mengazzoli started a prideful growth. A long time elapsed and production was diversified from wine to apple vinegars, to the balsamic vinegar creams to Mostagro, from salts to flavoured vinegars, but passion and bent of people constantly working and accurately selecting raw materials are always the same, developed and improved with the company and its supporters.

New technologies played a leading role in getting the best raw materials combined with handicraft, healthy and controlled production as at the company origins, but as the same time improving quantities and Mengazzoli branded product distribution all over the world. At present such a noble product of the Italian tradition is available in several countries in Europe such as Germany, Belgium, Spain, Nederland, Sweden, and in the World such as South Korea, Japan, Australia, North America, Canada, United Arab Emirates and many others .

For its high quality and safety standards Acetificio Mengazzoli Snc has been awarded with BRC, IFS, ISO 9001, ISO 22005 and organic certification.

Moreover, Mengazzoli have resolved to establish and implement EGOCALO, a proprietary certification system allowing to find out and determine any contents allowing to better classify its own product lines.
This self-regulation constitutes a warranty for our consumers, because we carry out accurate controls during every production stage, since the acquisition of raw materials through the relevant maturation stages and vinegar making, in any of its shapes and declinations – be it typical, traditional, and innovative.

At the same time, a classification takes into account quality intended as the relation among vinegar composition elements such as acetic acidity, sugar content, volume, density, fluidity, colour, clearness and typical synaesthesia scents, thus composing a product’s intrinsic quality and determining a reference scale.
